What’s New

New features and improvements, version by version.

1.8.0Latest release

See each product's share

  1. Product Share on the Dashboard

A ring shows each product's share of this month's profit, revenue or costs, and how it changed from last month. Losses and costs not assigned to a product stay out of the ring but still reduce contribution profit. The card appears when two or more products have records that month.

  2. Product Mix in Products › Overview

Revenue, cost and profit shares line up product by product in three bars, with each product in the same color and position. Switch to Profit Bridge to see how each product adds up to contribution profit.

  3. Shares in more places

The comparison table shows each product's share of contribution profit, the trend chart has a Share view, and the menu bar brief shows the share of your top products.

  4. Steadier change labels

On the Dashboard's metric cards, a change that rounds to 0% now shows as “— 0%” without an up or down arrow.

1.7.1

AI Connections fits smaller windows

  1. Everything shows in a narrower window

When the window is narrow, the review inbox, permissions, setup and Recent activity now show in full and scroll together. Before, some of them were cut off.

  2. Copy the example messages

Each example under Try these in your AI app now has a copy button beside it.

  3. Wording fixes

Small corrections to the Simplified Chinese text.

1.7.0

Compare products side by side

  1. See every product on one screen

Products › Overview now lists each product's revenue, costs, estimated contribution profit and margin side by side.

  2. Simpler AI Connections

Turn on Allow AI apps to connect once. No pairing code is needed. Only apps under your macOS user account on this Mac can connect, and no network port is opened.

  3. Review each AI record, or undo instead

By default, every record from an AI app waits for you to save it. Turn off Confirm each record before saving to let new products, revenue and costs save directly, then undo any of them in Recent activity. Cost allocation changes still wait for your review.

  4. A new look

Lime is the new default theme, alongside Editorial Warm and Graphite, with a new app icon and menu bar icon. Products and Revenue now open on the same month as the Dashboard.

  5. Installed the Claude Desktop extension with 1.6?

Save the installer from AI Connections and install it again. The earlier extension can no longer connect.

1.6.0

Track finances from your AI assistant

  1. Record revenue and costs in a conversation

Connect an AI assistant on your Mac through MCP. Prepare products, revenue, costs and allocation changes, then review and save the records in MarginDeck.

  2. Ask how your products are doing

Query monthly or yearly portfolio and product revenue, scheduled costs and estimated contribution profit. Check a product's cumulative results through a chosen month.

  3. Save a financial snapshot

Export a report as an image to keep or share. If your client cannot save it, use the recent report in MarginDeck's AI Connections page.

  4. Works with the assistant you use

Connect Claude Desktop, Claude Code, or Codex on the same Mac.

1.5.1

Choose a display currency and use ECB reference-rate estimates, with original amounts still visible.

1.3.0

Pause and resume recurring costs

  1. Pause cost estimates for an unused tool

Stop including its scheduled costs temporarily, then resume from the next expected charge. This does not pause the provider’s service.

  2. Keep your history

Past records, allocations and reminder preferences stay with the same cost.

1.2.0

Plan a product's costs before you start

  1. Build a cost plan

  3. Keep plans separate

Save plans on your Mac without changing your recorded products, costs or revenue.
